Today our permanent internet connection has received a little bandwidth upgrade. It's 4.5 times the speed it used to be. Downloading could be pretty fun those days - if there was no such thing like traffic. To be honest: I'm scared of traffic
And if there is one thing in the world I'm really losing control of, then it's my internet traffic. So I just installed
nitpicker on my central gateway. It logs all the outgoing and incoming traffic including ip and ports. As soon as I have some spare-time I'm going to write a little PHP analyzing tool for nitpicker's data-files.
This evening is pretty sad. Still developing some stuff for my company, although I'm feeling pretty sick since this morning. Hopefully my headache gets better tomorrow. One final thing happened: I installed the new XBMP 2.3 on my xBox. Mounting (linux) samba shares still does not work - but this media- / dashboard application is getting better and better from release to release. DivX, Quicktime, MPEG4, MP3, WMV is working smoothly. As mounting does not work, you will still have to setup XBMS. But this is really easy and explained in the README.
see you later,
