Extended my desktop's resolution...

with a new 21" monitor. It's a good ol' CRT (Hewlett Packard P1110) with a Sony Trinitron tube (means really flat) and a maximum resolution of 1920 to 1440. I'm running it with 1600 to 1200 at nearly 100Hz.

Just found some more information about my monitors on the net. I was able to configure my XFree86 with two monitors and the following resol

By the way, now that the only non-kde app on my desktop is gaim, all fonts look good.

And by the way - how many Hz do you have? managed to get it above 85?

yeah, 1600x1200 at 95hz works fine. just increase both values (vert and horiz refresh) in your xf86config-4.

you should also check out 1792x1344 at 75 hz (about 85 should even be possible), working with those values:

horiz: 70-110
vert: 70-110
