Yeah, guess I often feel like this little mouse. Need to get some tickets for my London-trip. amaroK 1.2.1 got released today! Something else to say? Not right now. Good night!

I got myself a new mouse today. I always kinda bought the cheapest ones, but today I had enough of those cheap crappy devices and bought the Logitech MX1000. It's a nice - even though really pricy - package, containing the mouse itself (surprise here), a charging-station and a PS/2 adapter.
The mouse is wireless! Finally! If I remember correctly I never really owned a wireless mouse, and now I experience what it feels like for the first time and wonder how I could have worked with a wired model. The one thing that always kept me from buying a wireless one were the batteries. I knew that I wouldn't have replacement batteries, once the first set emptied out. And working on a PC without a mouse? No-ho. Now, there is this charging station and this problem pretty mouch disappeared. Now the only thing left to do: configure all these extra buttons (12 mouse buttons is insane, right?) with cool KDE functions and shortcuts.
Happy hacking,

Just a short entry, uhm, and *GULP*:
Gran Turismo 4 Pictures! Just click and look. Oh and drool, of course. Spontaneous errections guaranteed.
No really, this is too amazing. A seven year old console which produces mind-blowing graphics. Congrats Sony, you made my day.

"If people had understood how patents would be granted when most of today's ideas were invented and had taken out patents, the industry would be at a complete standstill today...A future start-up with no patents of its own will be forced to pay whatever price the giants choose to impose."
Now guess who said that originally?
Linus Torvalds? Wrong.
Richard Stallman? Wrong.
Muesli? No-ho.
Bill Gates? Just kidding. Oh no, wait. He did. He really did.
Maybe he was developing an opensource OS named Billux back then? Just guessing, though.

Couldn't sleep tonight, even though we've planned to go to the convention today. Now the weather really sucks, too, and I don't know if we're still planning to go at all.
Oh besides, it's way too early for me to be awake anyways. Ok, just phoned to see what the situation looks like: we're still going, but later that day, around noon. Maybe I should visit my bed again for another hour or two.
Good morning, errr night.

Just stumbled over the amaroK Desktop Script on kde-apps.org. Nicely done, cool script
If you're curious: since I didn't have the pyqt/pykde stuff installed on my Debian desktop yet, I had to run "su -c apt-get install pyqt-tools python-kde3 python2.3-kde3" to get this stuff installed. Easy job.
So, now there's always a cool blended coverart of the currently playing album on my desktop. Sweet

Since I had my secondary monitor standing next to me on my desk for months now, without connecting it to my PC, I finally decided to search the cable-extension and DVI-adaptor today. Luckily I found it in one of my boxes! Having a few more pixels and information on my desktop really helps speeding up development. Besides, it's just fun to always have a visualization and amaroK on top of your screen.
Later this evening I will head over to Andz, having a few beer and prolly watching some movie / TV. I might have to hit the sack a bit earlier today, since I'm going to this VOIP convention I mentioned before. Hopefully it's worth it.
Cheers,

First of all, I have to apologize for my last entry. As you might have noticed I was kind of bad-mooded, so that's prolly why I forgot to name Jeanette Biedermann Well, I guess people shouldn't take everything too seriously and should instead try reading the meaning behind the words. And please: don't tell me, that you wouldn't laugh out loud if you heard that Daniel Kueblboeck died trying to crash another lorry
This evening I spent my time watching crappy reality TV shows ("Die Burg") and reading random blogs. Quite interesting to see how many people started their own blog by now. I remember it being the perfect hobby for geeky, nerdy teens. Seems even 35-year old women feel rather geeky today
Since I've started playing with Asterisk recently and installed our own software PBX here, I've decided to go to a VOIP convention on Thursday. Could be a boring marketing event, could be a rather cool event where technique matters. We'll see.
Btw, amaroK 1.2 beta4 got released! It'll be the final beta before our 1.2 release, so we're kind of in a freeze now.
