Late night blogging with muesli, today: X.Org Installation.

Wow, I'm really impressed. The X.Org installation worked out of the box, and the only thing I had to "fix" were the missing PAM dev-headers. The "make World" itself took about an hour, but it was really worth it. Look at those shiny transparent windows

I came to your blog, while googling for x.org installations on Debian. I am running Debian unstable and compiled X.org today.
I had the same PAM header problem and I installed the package for that.

My question is, what next? How should I proceed to install X.org. I saw that I could do "make install", but that
installs in /usr/ and would clean up the original X server. There is no ./configure --prefix= option. What did you do?
