Ironic that the tree pic and this post went right next to each other eh? I think they have a lot in common ;-].
I too have been majorly against the war since it started. I think that a common world misconception is that the American public has supported this brute force and awkwardness. While the war has certainly had its supporters, there are many of us who don't like what our government has done. Yet there isn't much we can do about it.
matthew: don't worry. i'm quite sure, that most of the world is able to see the difference between the mind of a politician and the people's mind. of course, the war had its supporters... and there were even a few in germany. i have to admit, that even i am not completely against this war. maybe, i shouldn't say "this" war. i never believed the whole "saddam got bombs" theory, anyways. in my eyes, one should have talked to the people in the iraq: if they are demanding the help of other countries, let's support them in bringing down their government.
just a comment aside: remember the situation, where iraq's minister of defence said "come to bagdad, you'll all die there"? everyone laughed. this situation reflects the whole insanity of this war: bush told us, he's fighting them because of those dangerous weapons. but as the minister said "we'll use those weapons", no-one believed him for one second and just grind. do you see my point?
